A compound butter made with nutty-tasting tahini and fresh herbs lends richness to simple roasted cod fillets. We used 1-inch-thick fillets when developing this recipe, but they can vary in thickness, so assess yours before cooking and adjust the time as needed. If your fillets vary in thickness, check the thinner ones for doneness before the thicker ones and remove them from the oven as they finish.

Tip

Don't forget to take the butter out of the refrigerator and allow it to soften before beginning this recipe. If the butter is cold, it won't mix well with the other ingredients.

Easy and excellent
Made this exactly as written. It was fantastic! I would add more cayenne next time for a little extra spice. And don’t be shy about that dollop of butter on top! We loved the extra notes the tahini added to the herb butter.

Easy fish recipe
We liked this Easy cod recipe. Tasty and subtle flavours. I have one question about the tahini: do you use the sesame paste or the prepared tahini for the sauce? I used the paste directly for the pot, but next time will try it with the tahini sauce

Not for me.
450 degrees for 15 minutes??? They registered over 165 degrees and were tough. Also the sauce was tasteless. I don't think i'll be making these again. There has tobea better ways to cook cod.
