Whipped cream made these biscuits light and tender, while sour cream and butter delivered great flavor. To avoid waste — as well as the need to reroll scraps — we cut our biscuits into squares. For a savory variation of these biscuits, decrease the sugar to 2 teaspoons and skip the final sprinkle.

Tip

Don’t forget to decrease the temperature when you put the biscuits in the oven. Starting the biscuits in a very hot oven helped them rise and brown better, but keeping them at that temperature will overcook them.

Great biscuits
Super easy, light and delicious. The texture and flavor were excellent. I live at 9200" and didn't need to make any adjustments. I made them to top peach cobbler(I make filling and biscuits separately and then reheat with biscuits on top)and they were perfect. But I would also have them with gravy! My new go to recipe-especially for a crowd-I just cut them smaller!

Such an easy biscuit recipe
I love how this is almost as easy as drop biscuits. I also rarely have buttermilk, but almost always have these ingredients on hand. I made (almost) as written and came out buttery, slightly tangy, and still a little savory with some sweetness to offset it. I did top with turbinado sugar though for something with a little more texture and deeper flavor.
