Most likely an Italian-American creation, the dish known as fra diavolo, or “brother devil,” is indeed a spicy one. The tomato-based sauce gets a kick of heat from red pepper flakes; we call for 1¼ teaspoons, though feel free to adjust to your taste. This shrimp fra diavolo is quite saucy, so we suggest serving it over pasta or polenta or with crusty bread alongside for dipping.

Wow, we really enjoyed the complex flavors. Easy to make and tasty. Our family loves the heat. I cook with my mom what a treat. We tried zucchini noodles but mom prefers pasta. She loves carbs. We added the parsley at the very end. Also, we added one tablespoon of brown sugar to cut the acidity. Our Sabbath Celebration was special. Thanks for making our night!

Loved this recipe. Easy to make and so delicious. I’ve made other versions that required so many steps but the flavor was excellent and don’t forget some crusty bread for the sauce.
