These addictive, salty-sweet pork ribs were inspired by char siu, a popular style of Cantonese barbecued meat often made with long, thin strips of pork shoulder. To season racks of baby back ribs, we combine hoisin, honey, soy sauce, fresh ginger and five-spice powder. Part of the mix goes onto the ribs before they go into the oven; the rest is reserved for glazing during cooking. Brushing ribs with a glazing mixture at 30-minute intervals builds layers of caramelization, resulting in a lacquered finish.

Delicious 😋!!!!
This rib recipe is simple and you get ribs that are simply delicious. These are the best oven cooked ribs I have ever had. I’m not saying that because I cooked them. The seasonings in the sauce are balanced just right. The ribs come out nice and tender. The sauce is very versatile. I made more of the sauce and used it on chicken drumsticks 🍗 and chicken wings. This will be my go to bbq recipe for the upcoming Labor Day weekend 😋

Five-Spice For The Win
The aroma was insane, and was so the flavor. If you like tender ribs, just lower the oven to 300 and do the first 60-90 minutes in foil, adding about 30-60 minutes to the overall cooking time.

Addictive!
As other reviewers said, super easy and comes out great! I tried it as written and found it hard for us to stop eating them. I will try them wrapped in foil and finished on the grill next time too. Highly recommend as is but I may spice it up a bit too.

Absolutely amazing flavor with so little prep work!!
What a genius of a recipe with minimal preparatory work but with the most amazing flavor!!! Only thing I would add to the glaze is a bit of sriracha for some heat! Highly recommended!
