Cardamom and orange bring floral and citrus notes to grassy asparagus, while butter lends richness and makes the flavors linger on the palate. We double up the orange in this dish—marmalade sweetens as it adds a touch of bitterness, and the zest and juice of a fresh orange lightens and brightens. Flaky finishing salt provides spikes of salinity and a nice crunch.

Can do it in a saute pan!
Put all the ingredients in a small bowl. Use stainless steel pan & quick steam asparagus in pan w couple of tablespoons water, cover 2 mins max maybe bit more if they are thick; dump water. Add ingredients with the asparagus right in the pan, toss a bit and give it high heat to get some roasty color. Done.

Great Add to The Asparagus Arsenal
This recipe is quick, very tasty and to us at least, a very different set of flavors for asparagus. It can also move easily from the broiler in winter to the grill in summer.
